Trace Adkins Concert--Kinder, LA

We have been big fans of Trace Adkins since his Every Light In The House Is On song and video. We would get such a big kick out of this huge Louisiana boy trying to dance in the video. LOL! He's even where we got the name for my son, Trace. So, when we heard of him coming back to Coushatta Casino for a concert and my Trace was celebrating his 1 yr cancer free status, I became determined for them to meet.

Trace joined Trace's fanclub and we put in for the meet/greet before the concert. We got the email that he had won one of the spots a couple of weeks before the concert!! YAY!

When we picked up the passes, we were told when and where to go. We ended up being the last in line to meet Trace. My Trace had brought a hat for him to sign and one of his fighting cancer shirts as a gift. Trace took a few extra minutes after pictures to talk to Trace and I. It was great!! Trace was great!! Concert was great!! Can't wait till next time.

disBigGive Quilts

I am a member of a wonderful group of men and women who send gifts to a Make A Wish child and their family who have chosen a Disney trip for their wish trip. We get to know these families and we can make and send something or we can send a gift card or we can "pixie dust" by sending little things to make their trips a little more enjoyable. Some in the group are extremely talented and send custom outfits for various times in their trips such as special dinners at Chef Mickey or the castle.

I signed up for a recent family and decided to make quilts since they were going this fall.

For the little girl, I decided to make a strip quilt out of purples, pinks and greens...with some Tinkerbell thrown in. Here are all the strips and fleece.

And Spiderman fleece tie blanket for the little boy. Big...fluffy...warm! 2 layers!!
